My Approach
I have been trained in various evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems therapy, family therapy, and various strains of couples counseling such as that provided by the Gottman institute, the work of Esther Perel, and Terry Real's Relational Life Institute. However, the bedrock of my therapeutic approach can be found in narrative therapy, which focuses on your unique story in the therapeutic process.
Drawing upon a philosophy grounded in respect and collaboration, narrative therapy was first developed in the 1970s by Australian Michael White and New Zealander David Epston.

An ever evolving suite of practices, narrative therapy can be best described in the following fashion.

"The person is not the problem, the problem is the problem, and the problem is never personal." M. White and D. Epston
