Walk and Talk Groups: Interweaving Stories
Narrative Walk and Talk Groups offer the space to explore how our lives are linked and lean into the power of our collective humanity.

Guided by curious and warm questions, this group is for those among you seeking rich conversation, opportunities to reflect on your story, in the witnessing presence of others, without any pressure or expectation to share your thoughts with others. See below for upcoming walks:

The theme of the next walk and talk group is 'moral dilemmas'. Inspired from our last walk and talk in which the conversation turned to values for living a good life, this walk draws its questions from the ideas in Cheryl Mattingly's book 'Moral laboratories'. Moral Laboratories challenges depictions of moral transformation as possible only in moments of breakdown or in radical breaches from the ordinary. What are the transformative powers embedded in day-to-day existence? As we explore day to day moral dilemmas, how might we consider these moments as a moral laboratory for reshaping our lives?

About walk and talk therapy

Walk and talk therapy falls under the eco-psychotherapy, a combination of ‘ecology’ and ‘psychotherapy’ or ‘psychology’ umbrella. Walk and talk therapy has been found to facilitate positive improvements in many mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and stress. Check out this recent article that describes the possibilities of walk and talk therapy as well as acknowledging the difficulties in collecting data on this very diverse field.

Where and when we are meeting:

On the day you book in for, we meet in the lobby on the ground floor at 4260 San Patricio, Vitacura. From here, I will direct you to my office where we will discuss the plan for the day, and open space for any last minute questions.
About the walk:

The duration of the event is 2 hours. The walk itself can be estimated to be a grade two level walk. There is no bushwalking experience required. There are well made paths throughout the park with occasional gentle hill sections and some steps. The walk will not exceed 5km in distance. The group is limited to 7 people so that you can get close enough to hear the guiding questions and so there is space for everyone's voice to be heard.
What you'll need:

*weather appropriate clothes e.g in summer sunsafe gear (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses etc)
*comfortable walking shoes
*water bottle (can be empty- you can fill up at the park)
