About Kitty Thatcher

I have lived in many corners of the world, listening to the stories of people from all walks of life. This global journey has taught me a fundamental truth: we do not live in isolation. We are part of a complex web of relationships, cultures, and systems that shape who we are and how we respond to adversity.

My Approach: Systemic and Relational

Whether I am working with an individual, a couple, or a family, my lens is always systemic. I believe that our challenges- whether they manifest as anxiety in a teenager or conflict in a marriage- are best understood within the context of our relationships and our environment. I don’t just look at 'the problem'; I look at the 'dance' between people and the systems they inhabit.

A Background in Education and Trauma

My career began in the classroom as a high school teacher in Australia and France, working with refugees and migrants. Witnessing the profound impact of trauma on learning led me to specialize in Psychological Trauma (University of Chester, UK). This foundation allows me to bring a trauma-informed perspective to every session.

Supporting Global Families and Youth

My practice is deeply informed by my time living and working in Santiago, Chile, as well as across both rural and urban settings in Australia. Having served in community organizations like headspace and Relationships Australia, I have had the privilege of supporting people through a wide diversity of life challenges- from the intricate layers of international and intercultural life to the unique experiences of local communities. This journey has taught me the importance of a collaborative approach; I aim to listen deeply and honor the cultural context of every family I meet. Rather than providing all the answers, I strive to work alongside you, meeting your family with cultural sensitivity and respect for the story you are already writing together.

Your Path to Connection

Today, based in Santiago, I offer a private practice dedicated to teenagers, adults, and couples. My goal is to help you move from friction toward connection, providing the tools to navigate life’s big questions while strengthening the bonds of your family system.

Now that you know a bit of my story, I look forward to hearing yours.
